Music programs in libraries

Our adult programs are very popular at our branch, especially music programs. We have several groups that play for us throughout the year (some of them very kindly do it for free), but I get feedback on our program evaluations that people want new bands and different types of music besides the golden oldies. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can find local musical groups to play at our library? And how I can convince them to come for little or no money?

If you have any colleges or universities in your area, you might promote your music series to the students there. They are often looking for places to perform outside their usual campus venues. This could be for jazz or classical music.
