Want to see how other librarians fill out grant applications? Or get ideas you can use in your own programs? Then volunteer to serve as a peer reviewer for the We the People Bookshelf project. The ALA Public Programs Office is currently seeking public and school librarians working in libraries that have not applied to receive this year’s Bookshelf on “A More Perfect Union.”
To volunteer as a Bookshelf reviewer, please email Amanda Rychener your name, title, and library name as soon as possible. Those selected will be asked to review a maximum of 50 applications over a two-week period. Each application will take approximately 3–5 minutes to review via a password-protected Web site. All reviews must be completed by February 19.
Now in its seventh year, the We the People Bookshelf is a project of the National Endowment for the Humanities, conducted in cooperation with the ALA Public Programs Office. Because this project will impact thousands of libraries across the country, it is very important that we involve librarians in the application evaluation process. Find out more about the Bookshelf.
