Marshall Public Library, Marshall, IL
We have been displaying one of the posters at a time at the front entrance of our library along with the corresponding essay provided in the teacher's resource book. We are calling it our "Picturing America" Mini-Art Museum. The poster on display usually goes along with a current local or national issue, such as election time, Abraham Lincoln's birthday, etc. Many library patrons stop and look at the poster and read about it on their way into the library when they visit. We have used the Lincoln poster in several displays in the library during this Bicentennial year. It is currently in the library's front display window to the street. The theme of this display is Lincoln's assassination. We will continue to use all of the posters in various ways such as these in order to provide education about the artwork to our patrons.
