Riverside Public Library, Riverside, IL
The Library, through the Youth Services Department, promoted the posters and teacher resource guide to staff at the elementary and middle schools and also at the high school in the area. Six different Presentations were made to a total of 140 teachers and school personnel. For our presentations, we brought the posters and resource book to show the teachers. We also make copies of the table of contents so they could see what was available at a later date. The Resource Guide is part of our Education Collection and can be checked out individually from the posters. In conjunction with the Picturing America collection, one of our Adult Services staff coordinated a Picturing Riverside program which consisted of six weeks of drawing and painting a mural depicting a scene in Riverside. We are now displaying the murals together in our Public Meeting Room and will be having a Meet the Artist night for those who participated.
