• Kids Count! Voting for Kids - a program for children in grades 1-5 focused on democracy and used the pictures as a starting point for discussion of America.
• Calling All Orators - a program for all ages invited participants to give Abe Lincoln's speeches - or their own. Pictures used as resource/reference.
• Landscapes and Legends - kids and grades 1-5 and parents/caregivers were invited to listen to folk tales and create their own imaginative landscapes on paper. Pictures used as resource/reference.
• Book discussion for adults - on David McCullogh's book 1776. Pictures used as resource/reference.
• Dutch history & culture program - for children, on early settlers. Pictures used as resource/reference.
• National Poetry Month celebration at local nursing home - librarian read The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere, a poem about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and other poems by Walt Whitman, and showed the related pictures.
