Spring Break Challenge Quest: Yoga

Spring Break Challenge Quest was a library district-wide, weeklong drop-in and passive program for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Held during our schools' spring break, the series involved daily "quests" to challenge the mind and body, from scavenger hunts to binary coding to yoga.

The yoga quest challenged kids to look at printed silhouettes of yoga poses (e.g. child's pose, downward-facing dog) and figure out how to position their bodies into the poses shown. 

Things Fall Apart: When Everything Goes Wrong

Sometimes, despite our best intentions, things fall apart. Or rather, it feels like we are falling apart, tearing at the seams. We scramble, gather the loose threads, look around desperately for someone to stitch us back together, but some life events are just too powerful. The emotions that come with these events bowl us over and yet we must carry on: children must be read to, timesheets must be submitted, reference questions must be answered, cameras flash and we smile and pretend everything is all right.

For the past few months, I have been trying to pamper myself a little more than usual. I tend to work long hours and do a lot of running around for work, so when I get home my feet are very tired. I decided to start getting pedicures at least once a month and now my feet feel great and look pretty awesome. My favorite part is picking out the color and then blingling it out with glitter!
